Kim Davis, Clerk Who Refused To Issue Same-Sex Marriage Licenses In Kentucky, Loses Re-election

Rowan County, KY – Kim Davis, the Kentucky clerk who made international headlines for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses in 2015, has lost her bid for re-election this past Tuesday. Davis was challenged by Democrat Elwood Caudill, Jr. and lost 54 percent to 46 percent, according to Fox News.  Initially a Democrat herself, Davis and Caudill squared off in a 2014 primary where Caudill lost by 23 votes.  Later, Davis would switch parties running as a Republican stating that the Democratic Party “abandoned her.” In 2015, Davis spent five days in jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex...

Kentucky Republicans Maintain Super-Majority, Dems Make Minor Gains

Union, KY – Kentucky Republicans maintained a hold on the statehouse Tuesday night fending off a Democrat attack to regain control of Congress in one of many contentious nationwide state races.
